About Me

Who Am I?

Hi I'm Desale Fentaw. I have joint master's degree in Image Processing and Computer Vision with mobility in three different institutions(Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Universite de Bordeaux). I did my BSc in Computer Engineering from Bahir Dar University. I have worked as an assistant lecturer at Bahir Dar University.

Currently, I am working as research assistant at Vicomtech. I am excited to work on applied research in computer vision.

Projects

This is tutored research which am working with teammate. The main objective is to augment digital object on physical workstation without using any monitor or head mounted display. We are using OpenCV with python to build prototype. I want to mention that it is ongoing project.

The project is also supervised by three professors from three different institutes.

I spent most of my BSc internship time working on this project. I wrote java application which can run on server. The main objective of this project is to extract SMS message received by Huawei E220 modem and process this message to extract relevant information. The project is built specifically for Linux platform. I was able to receive SMS message sent to a specific telephone number and extract all the information needed to be processed. In this project I learned a lot about Linux device management and hardware interfacing.

The project is build to fulfill course requirement. I build the project using OpenCV with c++. I have implement and evaluated both velocity and acceleration based Kalman filter for object tracking.

This is a thesis project of my BSc degree in computer engineering. This project was Build using OpenCV(python version) to search image from image database collected by the crawler. I got interested in computer vision after working on this project for one semester.

I did this project as a requirement for my BSc degree program. The main objective of this project is to build conversational agent to help guests in Bahir Dar University. I have used recurrent neural network with TensorFlow framework to build this project.
